Character Studies

So many characters, so little time.

Usually when I write a story, I just take off and write. Each character introduces themself and I get to know them as the story progresses. Not this time.

For once I am writing a story so complex that I need to know the characters inside and out even before I begin. Thus… I am doing character stories. History stories of each character so I know why they are the way they are and how they react to certain incidents. I know I need to do it and I already have short bios of each character down. Now, I need to write their stories so that I can write THE story.

It makes it hard when I just want to start THE story. But, I shall press on! I think if I can get this done, the writing for the main story will go much smoother as I won’t have to stop and think “who is this character again and how do they do things”?

An intriguing YA epic begins…
